Device Slots & Seats¶
Every device that books in DiKAS occupies a license seat (device slot). On this page you'll learn how to release slots immediately, add more temporarily or permanently, reduce them again — and what happens to your Cloud-TSE when you pause or cancel your subscription.
What Is a Seat?
One seat = one active device (POS, tablet, handheld) that books sales. Your license includes a certain number of seats. A seat is released automatically once a device has not made a booking for a while.
Releasing a Seat Immediately (in the POS)¶
Sometimes a new device needs to start right away even though all slots are still occupied. Via the device overview, you release a slot immediately without waiting for the automatic release.
POS → Menu → Registered Devices
- The list shows all currently registered devices.
- In the row of the device that should vacate the slot, tap Release.
- Confirm with Sure? — the slot is free immediately and a waiting device can sign in.
Maximum 3× per Day
Manual immediate release is limited to 3 releases per day (across all devices). The counter persists even after a restart and is reset to 3 every day. In the top right you can see how many releases are left today.
Managing Device Slots (in the Customer Portal)¶
In the customer portal (konto.dikas.de → My License & Devices) you manage your slots yourself.
Temp Seat — a Slot for Today Only¶
A temp seat is an additional device slot that is valid for the current day only and expires automatically afterwards — ideal for temporary staff, events, or peak times.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Validity | today only (expires automatically at the end of the day) |
| Price | flat 3 € per day |
| Free | the first 2 temp seats per month are free of charge |
| Billing | on the next monthly invoice; with yearly payment, immediately |
- Open My License & Devices.
- Tap "Temp seat for today". The button shows whether free quota is still available or 3 € will be charged.
- The slot is available immediately.
Adding a Permanent Device Slot¶
If you need more slots permanently, book an additional device slot.
- The price depends on your tariff (Basic 19 € · Gastro 39 € · Liefer & Abhol 45 € · Club 49 € per device/month).
- For the current month, billing is prorated by remaining days — you only pay from the day of activation.
- From the following month, the slot is billed regularly via your monthly or yearly invoice.
Reducing Device Slots¶
You can also remove slots again:
- The reduction takes effect from the next month — you keep the full number for the current month.
- In the portal you can see the planned reduction including its effective date.
1 TSE for All Devices
Additional devices do not trigger a new TSE — your single TSE (Cloud or Swissbit) signs for all devices of your business.
Pausing the Subscription (Seasonal Break)¶
Taking a company holiday or winter break? Then pause your subscription for a fixed number of months.
Customer portal → Subscription → Pause
- Specify the number of months (e.g., "until September — resuming in October").
- During the pause, no invoices are generated; the next billing is automatically set to the resumption month.
- A booked Cloud-TSE is switched off for the duration of the pause (you don't pay for it) and is automatically reactivated when you resume.
Cancelling the Subscription & Cloud-TSE¶
When you cancel, billing ends immediately; your access remains until the end of the paid period.
At the end of the paid period, the following happens:
- The TSE is deactivated (decommissioned).
- The TSE closing data is archived in your business database — it is retained for verification purposes.
- With a Cloud-TSE you receive an email reminding you to deregister your POS.
Cloud-TSE: Don't Forget to Deregister Your POS
After the end, you must deregister your POS and — if you keep selling — re-register it with your own or a local TSE. Otherwise the Cloud-TSE remains active and will continue to be billed.
POS → Settings → TSE → Deregister POS, then select a new TSE and register again.
