Address Suggestions

DiKAS suggests matching results while you type an address, for example when creating customers, for delivery addresses, invoices and quotes. The suggestions come from the DiKAS address service — you need no Google key and no account of your own with a map provider.

• You accept a suggestion with a click or with the keyboard. Manual entry is always still possible.
• Suggestions are available for addresses in Germany. Type addresses in other countries in by hand.
• A result is a map address, not a delivery guarantee from the postal service.

Under Settings → Services → Address functions there is also the switch "ZIP → city automatically": after you enter the postal code, the city is filled in.

Former Google integration

In the same section, collapsed, is "Former Google integration". These settings apply only to installations whose address service has not been switched over yet — the interface says so itself. A current installation does not need them.

Only if you still maintain your own Google key there:

1. In the Google Cloud Console, create a project with a billing account and enable the services Maps JavaScript API and Places API (New).
2. Under Credentials → API key, create a key (it starts with AIza…).
3. Be sure to restrict the key: under Application restrictions → Websites, enter your DiKAS addresses with /* at the end, and under API restrictions allow only the two services. An unrestricted key can be used by strangers at your expense.
4. In DiKAS, under Settings → Services → Address functions → "Former Google integration", switch on "Use Google address search", enter the key in the "Google API key" field and save.
