Delivery Platform Connection¶
Through the Delivery Platform Connection, orders from delivery platforms such as Lieferando, Wolt, Uber Eats or foodora arrive in DiKAS as regular delivery orders. Instead of maintaining separate credentials for every platform, one access is enough: the connection receives the orders and reports acceptance, rejection and status changes back to the platform.
Which platforms and ordering systems work with DiKAS is listed in the overview "Delivery platforms and ordering systems". Handling the orders themselves (Online tab, kitchen, drivers) is described in the Delivery Service module.
Requirements¶
| Requirement | Note |
|---|---|
| Delivery service module | Included in your licence or booked as an add-on |
| Activation of your restaurant | DiKAS provides the credentials (access key, restaurant identifier, webhook secret) once your restaurant has been set up for the Delivery Platform Connection. Please contact DiKAS support. |
| Reachable server | DiKAS must be able to receive the orders — always the case in the cloud version |
Which platforms?
Among others, Lieferando, Wolt, Uber Eats, foodora, MJAM, Deliveroo and Just Eat Takeaway.com can be reached through the connection (full list in the overview). A contract with the respective platform is required. Which of them are available for your restaurant, and which data the respective platform exchanges in which direction, depends on the platform and the country. Activation is done per restaurant on request; DiKAS clarifies this with you beforehand.
Setup¶
- Open Admin → Online-/QR-Einstellungen → tab "Bestellung" → "Lieferzonen & Gebühren", section "Lieferplattformen".
- Switch on the "Lieferdienst-Anbindung" card (checkbox in front of the name).
-
Enter the credentials you received from DiKAS:
Field Meaning Zugangsschlüssel (access key) Your personal access to the connection. Never shown again after saving. Restaurant-Kennung (restaurant identifier) Identifies your restaurant in the connection Webhook-Secret Secret key DiKAS uses to verify that incoming orders really come from the connection -
Optionally switch on "Automatisch annehmen" (see Accepting orders).
- Save, then choose "Verbindung prüfen" (administrators only). The saved state is checked; the result appears directly below the button.
- Copy the webhook address shown below the card (
https://[Server]/api/v1/webhooks/anbindung) with Kopieren. It is registered when the connection is set up; DiKAS can do this for you on request.
Below the card, "Webhook zuletzt empfangen" shows the time of the last message received (or "noch nie" — never).
Test order
After setup, DiKAS support can trigger a test order. It appears in the Online tab of the delivery service within a minute at most — marked "Test" on the order.
How an order works¶
- The guest orders on the platform.
- The connection reports the order to DiKAS (webhook). In addition, DiKAS fetches open orders itself about once a minute — if a message is lost, the order is not lost.
- DiKAS creates a delivery order. Source and platform order number are shown on the order.
- You accept the order in the Online tab (or DiKAS accepts automatically). Acceptance is reported to the platform and the kitchen tickets are printed. Rejecting reports the rejection to the platform.
- Further status changes (preparing, ready, on the way, delivered or picked up) are reported back automatically.
What is taken over into the order¶
- Items with options and surcharges — e.g. "Burger + extra cheese" at the correct price.
- Discounts from the platform as a negative line, service fees as a separate line.
- The platform's delivery fee — no second zone fee is added.
- Customer data and delivery address, requested time and notes from the guest.
- Payment status: Orders already paid online are booked as paid. If only part was paid online or cash is collected on delivery, the order counts as not yet paid and is collected as usual.
- Items DiKAS cannot match to an article arrive with the platform's name and price as a manual item — nothing gets lost. To keep tax rate and reports correct, assign the platform's article number (PLU) to your articles.
Accepting orders¶
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Automatisch annehmen off (default) | Orders appear in the Online tab and must be accepted or rejected by you |
| Automatisch annehmen on | Incoming orders are accepted immediately, reported to the platform and sent to the kitchen |
Cancellation by the platform¶
If the platform or the guest cancels an order, the order in DiKAS is stopped and the cancellation is confirmed. Orders that are already completed remain unchanged.
Problems and frequently asked questions¶
"Webhook zuletzt empfangen: noch nie" — what does it mean?
No message has been received yet. This is normal before the first order. If no messages arrive although orders were placed, check that the webhook address is registered in the connection setup and contact DiKAS support. In the meantime DiKAS fetches orders itself.
An order does not appear in the Online tab
Check that the Lieferdienst-Anbindung card is switched on and saved and that "Verbindung prüfen" ends without an error. The fetch runs about once a minute. If the platform reports a status DiKAS cannot classify safely, DiKAS does not create the order automatically and shows a notice — please contact support in that case.
A stored secret is no longer readable
This can happen after importing a new licence. Enter the access key and webhook secret again and save.
Can I keep connecting Lieferando or Wolt directly?
Direct connections that are already set up keep working. Set up new platforms through the Delivery Platform Connection.
What does the connection cost?
DiKAS sales will tell you the terms on request.
